WISH YOU WERE HERE

The assignment was to take yourself out of one picture and place in another. End product was to look like a postcard and say "Wish you were here"

Me as a tourist in my homeland :)

Background picture original from Crystal NV. That bottom sign didn't exist before...hope it looks real enough! I chose this one to turn in because i felt the lighting was most realistic. side note: i love these overalls

This is a castle outside of york and i'm reading a tourist map. Those of you who know me well would never believe that this is true due to my fear of dogs (but he fit the scene so well)

I was disappointed about the color of my skin tone..i spent awhile on it but it was difficult to make me as gray as france. I played around a little with making shapes-hope it doesn't look too cheesy.

The original picture i posed in was with grass under me, so sadly my back shoe does not look as crisp as i would have hoped. It took some time figuring out how to bring over my shadow but i believe that without it the picture would not have meshed as well. The font is nothing special but i feel that it blends well. (thanks to my friends brother casey for letting me borrow the camping gear)

Me "going swimming" in lake Las Vegas. My biggest challenge was scale in this picture- looking at it I think I am a little bit too tall but whenever I would shrink myself down, it did not look correct at all. I also saturated the color of the whole image to give some warmth to it.

  1. This is the most experimental text I've seen. Kudos.

  2. My fave is the one on the bottom! It is visually interesting! I like where you put the text.

  3. Definitely like the second and the last. As for the fourth one, and not being able to get yourself "as gray as france," there are some ways to do it, with out stock filters. You kinda make your own. But other than that, these look awesome. Very nice experimentation with text. :)
